Family Tennis Holidays

Whether you have a budding tennis star in the family or you just want to play a bit of social tennis whilst on holiday, then a tennis holiday may be for you. Tennis holidays are a great option if you wish to quickly improve your tennis skills with intensive coaching sessions. It is also a very sociable sport and a great way to make new friends on holiday. All holidays offer alternative activities for non-tennis playing members of the family too.

Types of Tennis Holiday

Tennis holidays range from those based near to international tennis academies to holiday villages where tennis courts are just one of the facilities available.

> Tennis Academies offer intensive group coaching programmes for children and adults.
> Pro Hosted Tennis Weeks where the holiday is hosted by former UK and World champion tennis players. The tennis pros work with all members of the family to improve their tennis.
> Holiday Villages and Clubs offer a range of activities including tennis, tennis coaching and weekly tennis tournaments.
Tennis Coaching

Tennis coaching can be provided as group lessons or on a one-to-one basis. Tuition is usually available for complete beginners through to club and county level players.

The pro-hosted tennis weeks usually have a morning of tennis coaching with the afternoon free to play tennis, practise or do as you please.
Tennis academies offer intensive coaching which often covers a week of both morning and afternoon sessions. Many tennis academies use state of the art equipment including computer-assisted shot analysis.
Accommodation Options

Your accommodation will be near to your tennis base. If you are staying in a holiday village or beachclub, you could stay onsite in hotel or villa accommodation. For holidays based near to a tennis club or academy, you can choose from a range of accommodation located near to the tennis club.. On pro-hosted weeks, all the guests and the tennis pros usually stay in the same hotel accommodation.

Age Ranges

Children of 3 or 4 years and above are usually able to take part in tennis coaching.

Other Activities

There is usually lots for non-tennis players to do from biking, swimming, sightseeing and golf to relaxing in the spa.

Tennis Gear
It is often possible to hire tennis equipment on site if you are not able to bring your own racquets with you. Racquet stringing is usually available and some locations offer a pro shop.
